Welcome To Travel Visas

After the events of September 11, 2001, the United States began to enforce stricter rules pertaining to who entered the country. The amount of illegal aliens that have slipped past the borders has also forced the government to tighten their control. Even vacationers from other countries are finding it more difficult to gain access to American soil unless they have the proper paperwork. Without it, they will not pass customs in the airports, train depots, or vehicle border crossings.

Many people have been denied visas even if their intentions have been honest. It has become extremely frustrating to obtain an American visa and if they any intention of visiting the United States, they should apply for one as soon as possible, leaving themselves plenty of time to fight for it if need be. The process is a difficult one to get through as the State Department judged each individual application differently. When making their decision, they take into consideration a person’s ethnic background, race, social class, and economic standings. This is one time where a person’s civil liberties are completely thrown out of the proverbial window.

The State Department has also been granted the liberty of making assumptions when considering a visa application regardless of the fact that there may be no evidence to support it. A visa application can be denied based on the following ‘true’ assumptions:

• The applicant is believed to be a criminal or possible terrorist.
• The applicant has no way to support themselves economically or financially    while in the United States.
• The applicant is looking to remain in the United States instead of returning    home when their visa has run out.

Of course, these conditions are on a worst case scenario basis. Allies of the United States, such as applicants from the United Kingdom or Ireland, will have no problems obtaining a visa before entering the country. Members of other nations will have to go through the process. More than likely, their visa will be granted.
